Just in time for the holidays, Kathleen has released a six shade limited-edition collection inspired by some of her favorite gems: Alexandrite, Ruby, Emerald, Smokey Quartz, Amethyst and Citrine.

My Thoughts on the Lights Lacquer Polished Gems Collection

Happy (almost) Christmas to those of you who celebrate! Today I am bringing you a collection I was so so excited to pick up, and knew that I had to share asap. It is the Lights Lacquer Polished Gems Collection for Winter 2019!

So many of you have come to find me because of KL Polish and now Lights Lacquer, so I wanted to get this review up ASAP for you all!

Polished Gems is a gorgeous 6 shade collection inspired by some of Kathleen's favorite gems: Alexandrite, Ruby, Emerald, Smokey Quartz, Amethyst and Citrine.

Now, on to the swatches!

Swatches of the Lights Lacquer Polished Gems Collection

SMOKEY QUARTZ | Smokey Quartz is dark taupe base with a rose copper shimmer. I have seen this look more grey on lighter skin tones, but on my this pulls a lot more brown. I think it's a stunning color that is pretty unique to my collection. I got this fully opaque in 2 coats.

AMETHYST | Amethyst is a deep purple shade with holographic micro glitters. This is NOT a holo polish, but just a purple with scattered holo glitters. As with so many holo glitter polishes, it can be hard to capture just how holographic it is, but directly under my lights I think you can see just how strong this holo is. I got it fully opaque in 2-3 coats.

EMERALD | Emerald is the only cream in the collection, and it is described as a rich jewel-toned green with a slight teal green undertone, and I think that it right on the nose. I am obsessed with colors like this, and I think it will be worn a lot by me this winter! The formula is buttery smooth, and opaque in 2 coats.

CITRINE | Citrine is a metallic gold with a slight sprinkle of gold glitter. This polish feels like liquid gold on the nails. The formula is a bit thinner than other KL Polish/Lights Lacquer polishes, but it has to be that way to get this super dimensional look. For these photos I used 3-4 coats, depending on my application.

ALEXANDRITE | Alexandrite is a browny purple with an intense blue iridescent shift. You all have to know by now, I love me a good blue, especially if it is sparkly! I love the depth in this polish. It is a plumy base packed with blue metallic and it is just so pretty on the nails. This one had a similar formula to Citrine, and I built it up to full opacity in 3 coats.

RUBY | Ruby is a deep burgundy, ox blood red base with red flakies. It was so hard or me to capture the red flakes, and I think it is because the red base was a little too thick to really let them shine. I love the idea behind this polish so so much, I just with the red base was a little less opaque, so that we could better see the gorgeous red flakies! For these photos I used 2 coats to get full opacity.

Final Thoughts on the Lights Lacquer Polished Gems Collection

Well first of all, I love this theme, and I hope she does a part 2 with some other gorgeous gems as inspo! I think Kathleen could really knock it out of the park with a followup gems collection in the spring!!

I love this collection, and really love all the polishes but I have to say my favorites are Smokey Quartz, Citrine, and Alexandrite!

You can pick up all of these polishes from lightslacquer.com for $9.50 each.
