My thoughts on the Love OPI, XOXO (Holiday 2017) Collection

Today I have a (partial) review of the OPI Holiday 2017 collection! The Love OPI, XOXO Collection will have you "fall in love again and again" with OPI.

About the Love OPI, XOXO collection

Love OPI, XOXO includes 12 limited edition shades, with a palette featuring a variety of colors and finishes perfect for everyone’s gift list, each hue offers consumers a holiday-infused message in a bottle.

So as I mentioned at the top, I only have a partial review for you guys today. I wanted to write up about some of the colors in this collection, because they looked so beautiful, but when I was honest with myself -- I did not need to buy the full thing! I have so much nail polish so I only picked up the ones I thought I would really love.

That being said, on to the swatches....

Sending You Holiday Hugs

Sending You Holiday Hugs, XOXO, Your Favorite Fuchsia. | This color comes off more bright red on camera than it does in real life, and I was so so excited for this shade. I love the firey gold and orange shimmer that is throughout this red, but that is more apparent in the bottle than on the actual nail. I think it is the perfect holiday color with a twist. This was 2 coats for full opacity.

The Color That Keeps On Giving

The Color That Keeps On GivingCandy-hued pearlescent pink as sweet as giving and receiving. | I was so hesitant to pick up this cool-toned, light, shimmery pink color because it is really not my kind of color, but I thought that I would push myself out of my comfort zone and this is actually a very flattering color. This color reminds me of Christmas bows and cotton candy. This was 3 coats for full opacity.

Gift of Gold Never Gets Old

Gift of Gold Never Gets OldShimmer and shine with this glam metallic. | I love gold nail polish, so I was so excited to see one of these this this collection. It is also a green under-toned gold which is something that I don't have (surprisingly) in my collection. As you can see, this is a metallic shade, and the brush strokes never really settled down. That being said it's still a pretty shade! This was 2 coats for full opacity.

Wanna Wrap?

Wanna Wrap? This black-burgundy is so chic it doesn’t need a bow. | So my first ever OPI nail polish, and still one of my favorite colors of all time, was Lincoln Park After Dark. My bottle has since run out and I thought that I would give this guy a try since they looked similar enough. Wanna Wrap? is a little cooler and a more purple creme polish. It built up beautifully and I this is definitely a chic color for winter. This was 2 coats for full opacity.

Top the Package with a Beau

Top the Package with a BeauA gray so fine, he’ll always be mine. | WOW this is hands down my favorite polish in the collection, and the one I think is the most unique. I have not seen a great flakey polish since....who knows how long! This is a black jelly formula that builds up to black, and it have beautiful gold flakies mixed in. Love love love this on the nail. This was 3 coats for full opacity, but you can get away with 2 if you have shorter nails.

Coalmates

CoalmatesThis metallic charcoal is the only one for me. | Coalmates was a very close second favorite color in this collection. This is another super unique color, a metallic charcoal grey that also leans into dark blue is packed with silver shimmer and sprinkled with tiny holo-glitter (you can see when it's blurred and in natural light). This was 2 coats for full opacity.

Feel the Chemis-tree

Feel the Chemis-treeYou’ll keep coming back to this shimmering purple hue. | Last, but not least, is this beautiful purple with a flash of red-gold shimmer. I love deep purples this time of year, and also have been loving these kinds of shimmery chromey polishes as well. This will be on my nails for sure before Christmas! This was 2 coats for full opacity.
