Pantone Color of the Year: Ultra Violet Nails

12:56 PM

Hello Lovies! Welcome to 2018!

Every year, I look forward to seeing what the Pantone Color of the Year of the year is, because I love to rock the color throughout the year and see how it starts to pop up all over the place after it's announced. This year, Ultra Violet has the honors -- and I am pumped.

I love purple, and as a Northwestern Alum, I already have a lot of Ultra Purple-esque clothing, nail polish, home decor....

Today I pulled together the Ultra Violet polishes that I own (some more Ultra Violet than others...) so we can all rock this powerful color in the new year.

Now onto the swatches...

China Glaze - Plur-Ple is a bright violet crelly that is a bit brighter than the Ultra Violet, but is still a close match. This was 3 coats for full opacity.

Essie - Sexy Divide is a juicy and bold, deep purple nail polish with a flash of Ultra Violet shimmer throughout. Not into the cremes? Go for this deep vampy version -- perfect for finishing out the winter. This was 2 coats.

KL Polish - Mozart is a dusty purple with a creme finish, and is what I wold call the dustier version of the Ultra Violet. This was 2 coats.

Sally Hansen - Lively Lilac is a lot lighter than the Ultra Violet, but I wanted to add a lighter option in there for those of you that like to stick to the pastels. This is a saturated Lilac with a red and ultra violate flash running through it. This was 3 coats.

Zoya - Landon is my perfect Pantone Ultra Violet color! The tone and saturation is as close as my polishes got, and I love how easy and smooth the Zoya creme polishes go on. This was 2 coats.

Now, I cannot miss out on including this Butter London polish.
For the last couple of years, Butter London has partnered with Pantone to come out with products that match the color of the year! You can check out this polish named 'Ultra Violet" here.

To go along with this exact match, Butter London has come out with 5 other polishes (along with eye shadows, lip gloss, etc.) to go with the collection.

Let me know down below if you will be rockin the purple polish this year!
