10:00 AM
Essie is back with a spring collection inspired by high tea made up of six delightfully decadent, limited edition shades will have you putting your perfectly manicured pinkies out!

My Thoughts on the Essie Spring 2019 Collection

Hello Lovlies! It has been a minute, work had me traveling around the country so I couldn't sit down to swatch or anything the last few weeks.

Today I have the six all-new limited edition Essie Spring polishes to share with you! I spotted these at a Target while traveling, and the opalescent purple really caught my eye. This collection is pretty neutral -- and most of them aren't the most exciting, but I do think they are really gorgeous soft shades for spring.

I picked these up not at that Target (didn't want to lug them back to New York in my carry on) but from Head2ToeBeauty.com for $6 a piece.

Now onto the swatches...

Swatches of the Essie Spring 2019 Collection

STIRRING SECRETS | Stirring Secrets is a light nude beige creme with hints of peachy-pink. Being such a light shade, this was pretty patchy at the first and second coats, but built up to this beauty in 3 coats. I wish this was a 2-coater, because Essie has had some really great light cremes recently

A TOUCH OF SUGAR | A Touch Of Sugar is a sheer pink nail polish packed with gold and rose gold flakies. I love this finish from Essie and I hope they come out with more polishes like this! It is so delicate and pretty for this spring, and I was able to build it up 3 coats on its own - but I think it would be so pretty over other pinks/peaches.

PINKIES OUT | Pinkies Out is a pearly apricot coral with a hot pink or red flash. I think this color is so cute, and I really like the idea of this polish, but the formula was just too thick for me. This was 3 coats for almost full coverage, but I still see a little nail line.

TIERS OF JOY | Tiers Of Joy is a periwinkle blue nail polish with lilac iridescence, and he polish that really caught my eye in this collection. I love that this type of color is making a comeback -- from Sally Hansen to other indie brands and now Essie, iridescence is making a comeback! This was 3 coats, you can still see a little nail line, but that is under my harsh photo lights, in real life it was fully opaque.

REIGN CHECK | Reign Check is a metallic dark teal green with gold to green flakies sprinkled in. This is such an unexpected color for the spiring, but on the nail it's not as dark as it looks in the bottle. I just don't think this color looks good on me, so I probably won't be wearing it much. I was able to build it up in 2 coats.

TEACUP HALF FULL | Teacup Half Full is a chestnut brown with golden iridescence. I love love love polishes like this, anything brown and gold has been my jam recently. This also has a beautiful buttery formula, and built up perfectly in 2 coats

Final thoughts on the Essie Spring 2019 collection

Overall, as I mention above, this isn't the most exciting collection -- BUT I do think that these are all really cute and delicate polishes for spring. My favorites are Tiers Of Joy and Teacup Half Full.

I also have to say, I LOVE the new Essie wide-brush, it makes me love these even more now.
