Mac Me So Chic Patrick Starrr Kit Review

11:00 AM
Last month, Mac launched their second collab with YouTuber Patrick Starrr! They released two full face kits, and today I have the Me So Chic kit to share.

My thoughts on the MAC Me So Chic Patrick Starrr Full Face Kit

Hello Lovelies! Sorry that my posting schedule has been so off, life has gotten in the way and I haven't been able to sit down long enough to write up a post -- until now!

Today I am sharing the beautiful MAC x Patrick Starrr Me So Chic Full Face Kit a.k.a. my first ever MAC purchase! Not only do I love that MAC has collaborated with a YouTuber, where I found my love of the beauty community, but also a YouTuber that is Filipino just like me!

This kit is one of two, each of which includes an eyeshadow quad, a blush duo, a lipstick, and a lipgloss all for just $49.50 which is a great deal for MAC products. I picked mine up from Ulta while they had a 20% off coupon as well, so I really god a great deal on this.

I was so excited to try all of these products, since I have never bought or tried most MAC products before. I've been gifted some lipsticks, but have never tried any face products. So let's just get into each product!

"I’m Not Blushing" blush duo

The I’m Not Blushing: Pure peach (Satin) & Capri bronze (Matte) blush was the real reason I wanted this specific kit. I love peachy brown blushes on me during the summer, and this duo is perfect to give me a bronzy, peachy glow throughout the summer.

This applied a little more powdery than I'd have expected, but it really brought life back to my face after foundation and it wore beautifully all day.

"Sweet Mamastarrr" Lipstick

Next up is the lipstick in shade Sweet Mamastarrr, a midtone neutral pink in the amplified formula. This is just a classic nude shade for me, the formula was good, and I looked pretty on (sorry didn't get pictures) but it's nothing too too special.

"Mamastarrr Kiss" Lipglass

The kit also comes with a lipglass in Mamastarrr Kiss, a sheer nude with pearl shimmer. I'm not one for lip gloss, but the formula on this is the same as another lipglass I have. It's a little tacky, but does form a kind of film to prevent it from being sticky and stringy when you smack your lips -- if that makes sense.

"Stay with Me" eyeshadow quad

Last, but not least, and to be honest my favorite part of this collection -- the Stay with Me eyeshadow quad. I have been loving my quads more lately, I think it's cause work has been taking over my life and having a quad makes looking presentable easy. The shades in the Stay with Me eyeshadow quad are:

  • Daddystarrr, a matte and muted baby pink with pearl
  • Yesss, a veluxe pearl in a midtone dusty violet  shade
  • Queen Patrick, a frosted bright purple
  • Bon Nuit, a matte almost-black purple

For this look, I started out with Daddystarrr all over the lid, and then built it up in the crease. I then went in with Bon Nuit, the deep black-purple and created a halo shape on my eye -- adding it to the inner and outer corners.

This shade was pretty patchy on me personally, and sadly was my least fav in the quad. I will probably not go in with that shade again. You can see this on my inner crease area -- so patchy!

To fix that, I used my finger to put Queen Patrick over the Bon Nuit shade. This purple is sooooo gorgeous. There is a good amount of fall-out so be aware if you have your face makeup on already.

To top it all off, I used another finger to press Yesss onto the center of my lid. I love love love how this look came out, and I can't wait until I have an occasion to wear this to!

Overall thoughts on the Mac Me So Chic Patrick Starrr Kit

For my first MAC purchase, I am very happy with everything in this kit. For less than $50 I 100% see myself using all the products in this kit, sans the lipglass -- but that's still a good deal in my eyes.

Did you pick up either of these kits? Let me know down below what you think of this collab, these products, or my eye look!
